On Saturday, October 17th Sarah Phillips organized a creek clean-up event with the San Geronimo Valley Stewards and volunteers. The group of concerned residents met at the Forest Knolls Post Office to divide and conquer the litter along that stretch of San Geronimo Creek. We worked from 10 am-1 pm followed by a celebratory lunch at the nearby park, together. A big thanks to Steve Tognini for buying the tasty sandwiches for everyone and to Marin County for providing a dumpster that we were able to haul the truck load of trash to in finishing up the day.
The month of October has included a series of creek clean-ups first starting with the Sleepy Hollow Creek Committee on October 3rd, then Murphy Creek with residents on October 10th followed by a clean up event with San Geronimo Valley Stewards on the 17th. May Marin’s creeks be ready for the winter storms with less litter going into our waterways, reducing its impacts to aquatic life!
